Dress designers that are making dream wedding dresses come to life!

The wedding dress is often the star of conversations for wedding plans. It is definitely high up on the “wedding to do list” for all brides.

The wedding dress is also a statement piece for brides on their most special day.

With so much importance placed on the dream wedding dress, brides today have so much to choose from, no matter the colour, fabric, shape or style. You only need to Google “wedding dresses” and hundreds of pages will come up for you to browse through.

If you’re keen to support a Perth wedding fashion designer and want to create the dream wedding dress with someone who you can talk to directly, visit and see face-to-face, then we’re so pleased to share five Wedding Upmarket local designers and their beautiful work with you.

Sally Geach Bridal

After finishing her advanced Diploma in Fashion and Design Technology and many years designing, Perth designer Sally found her stride in the bridal industry where her love of detail, lace and one-off creations come to life.

Sally works from her studio in Applecross, where she seeks to create the perfect wedding gown through collaboration of designer and bride, through an initial complimentary 30 minute one to one sit down.

Here Sally will help walk you through the process of getting your special wedding dress, answer those all important questions and finally view your personalised sketch and quote.

Elvi Design

Designer and dressmaker, Sandra, had a conversation with a friend in 2011 about their struggles to find a unique wedding dress. This was at a time when no wedding gowns with sleeves or “tea-length” existed! So of course, Sandra had to do something about that.

Named after Sandra’s Finnish Grandmother, Elvi Designs is all about creating bespoke, different and quality wedding gowns. Sandra gained her love of dressmaking from her grandma and mum and work experience with Collette Dinnigan in Sydney, the late Ruth Tarvydas and Morrison Clothing.

When creating the perfect wedding gown for her special day, Sandra focuses on the style of the bride’s wedding (vintage, relaxed, bohemian, minimal etc), her individual body shape (because we all come in different sizes, right?) and her personality, to come up with a one-of-a-kind wedding gown for her special day.

Meeting Grace

Elsa – the designer behind Meeting Grace – has been working in the international wedding scene since 2008, before opening her own Perth boutique six years later.

Elsa’s approach to the dream wedding dress is by firstly understanding that “your wedding day is the most important day of your life. As a designer, I understand just how important it is to look and feel your best on that special day. I also understand how frustrating it can be to try on dress after dress at a bridal chain only to leave the store empty handed.”

Together with fellow designer, Chloe, Meeting Grace’s unique approach to creating wedding dresses is by focusing on the silhouette a gown creates on your body, instead of a mass-produced cookie cutter style dress.
